After a change in insurance, we went to Plantation Dental to try them out. My wife and I have had our teeth cleaned every 6 months by our former dentist with zero issues and zero cavities. Six months later, we go to have our teeth cleaned by Dr. Budman, and he informs us that I have two cavities and my wife has nine! Immediately, he tries to put us on a payment plan to pay for the fillings, and he won't use the insurance-covered fillings; he will only use some other kind of fillings that requires us, not the insurance company, to pay more.
Needless to say, we got a second opinion six months later from a different dentist, and both my and I are cavity free; as in, the cavities Dr. Budman wanted us to pay to fill "miraculously" disappeared! Patients beware!
Daughter had her wisdom teeth removed. Plantation Dental is on my insurance plan but doctor who performed the removal was not. Was not told this until after I received the EOB and realized it. Called the office and they basically told me that "if it was important to me, I should have asked". My response was - "you knew the doctor was out of network and failed to tell us the doctor was out of network." They went on to say that it was my responsibility to know if the doctor was in network or not. My response - Plantation Dental is IN NETWORK. Why would I inspect every individual dentist from Plantation Dental to see if they are on my plan if Plantation Dental is. The cost of not knowing the dentist was not in network? $1,409. So beware. Make sure to ask if every dentist or any other person you come into contact with is on your insurance. Don't take their word for it.
Dr. Budman has a great bedside manner and provides fantastic service/care. Wonderful staff as well.
