I have absolutely NO complaints about the staff or the care my two dogs receive. Both are on the Banfield Plan. The issue I have is they're Johnny on the spot regarding scheduling checkups and shots, however, when I really need them I can't get the dogs in to see them for days! I'm aware that they are not an emergency vet but, if you're so swamped that you can't take immediate care (not necessarily urgent care, that would be an emergency vet), budget for a bigger staff. There is obviously a need in this area. The same issue exists at BOTH our Banfields. If the access problem didn't exist, I'd have given them 5 stars.
Great staff, really cares about my animal
This review is five stars all the way *****
Besides the pet plan there is nothing else I'll use them for. I have 3 cocker spaniels and of course ear infections are a common problem. The vet which I won't name to protect the innocent had me do multiple tests and costs out of the a$$. Then the vet tells me that there wasn't anything that (he/she) could do and I need to take my dog to a dermatologist. Long story short I found a vet on the SE side of the Houston by the ship channel. He did one swab and saw that my dog had yeast and prescribed some antibiotics and a topical . He also gave me instructions on how to prevent future episodes of ear infections. On the 4th day my dog was great. I always throw it in Banfield face every time they tell me my dogs ears are looking good.
AFTER SPENDING $400 ON MY DOG TREATMENT, I HAVE CALLED TO SPEAK TO A VET SINCE APRIL 1 AND TODAY IS APRIL 4. NOT ONE VET WILL RETURN MY CALLS TO WRITE ME A NEW PRESCRIPTION FOR A "VETPEN" TO MAKE GIVING INSULIN SHOTS TO MY DOG AT HOME LESS PAINFUL! IS THIS BECAUSE THEY DONT SELL THIS PRODUCT AND CAN'T MAKE MORE MONEY???
We had to deal with a doctor that was afraid of dogs, she has decided that sedating the animal was the best way to work with him... also, she wouldn't even touch our dog, the nurse had to do all the work... terrible service!
One of my Cocker Spaniels had a slip disc for years and we had no knowledge of it, because of his pain we always thought he was a loner and preferred to be by himself. One day we noticed him walking a little funny and slower than usual, Upon lifting him up he started yelping in pain.. We took him too Banfield and Dr Kassav told us he had a slip disc and we can do surgery or take the prescription route. I opted out of the surgery and told the doc lets go with the prescriptions. Long story short its been a day and my dog has responded very well to the medicine. He's outrunning me up and down the stairs, jumping into the truck and onto the bed. He never did these things because we thought he was over weight. Thank you Dr Kassav, you're a life saver.
